Meet Monad, the dream-pop project of Tel-Aviv based artist and producer Eshchar Nachmany, who blends palpitating electronics, otherworldly echoes and shoegazey guitars into his own brand of multicolored psychedelia.
Monad had its beginnings in an isolated house in the Israeli countryside, as Esh built a studio from scratch to record his debut EP, remodelling broken tape machines and synths to construct layers of dreamy soundscapes. In 2019, Esh returned to nature for his sophomore project – renting a small cabin not far from the sea to set up his studio.
2020 saw Monad release swirling psych-pop stomper ‘September’, which alongside singles like ‘Dawn Chorus’ and ‘Low Pressure’ formed Monad’s striking sophomore EP ‘Dissolution’ . Garnering support and acclaim online from the likes of Line Of Best Fit, EARMILK, Clash, okayplayer, Spotify Editorial and many others for his lush and complex musical landscapes.
Monad’s music has seen support not only from local radio, but also from prominent indie taste-makers across the globe such as KEXP, KCRW, NTS and RTE 2FM to name a few.
2021 sees Monad further explore and shape his own lysergic, retro-futuristic sound and aesthetic, with music from Monad’s debut LP expected to be released in the second half of 2021.
